Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal community controlled health service serving Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1977, it was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia and has operated for more than forty years. BRAMS aims to provide holistic and culturally responsive health and wellbeing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, guided by its vision of healthy people, strong community and a bright future. Its services include primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing, health promotion, aged care, disability and NDIS support, and family and domestic violence services.
Who we are
Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal community controlled health service based in Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1977, it was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia and has been serving the community for more than forty years. BRAMS aims to provide holistic and culturally responsive health and wellbeing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Its vision emphasises healthy people, strong community and a bright future, underpinned by values of respect, integrity, accountability and quality. The service delivers primary health care alongside social and emotional wellbeing services, health promotion, aged care, disability services, NDIS support, and family and domestic violence services. Operating Monday to Friday from its Dora Street site, BRAMS continues to expand its programs, including a newly established health promotion team supporting community wellbeing across the region.
