Kadadjiny Aboriginal Corporation
Kadadjiny Aboriginal Corporation is a community-led Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation based in Albany, supporting the healing and development of Aboriginal people across the Great Southern. Guided by the Noongar values of thinking, listening and learning, it works with Elders and families to build confidence, culture and community capacity. Kadadjiny delivers a Schools Readiness Program for Aboriginal children, using bush camps, heritage-site visits, sport, traditional dance and art to strengthen attendance and learning. It also partners to deliver family and domestic violence services, including the Katanning Women's Refuge. Its team is largely Aboriginal and works from several Great Southern towns.
Who we are
Kadadjiny Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation founded by Stuart Roberts alongside respected community Elders who guide its Board. Its name reflects the Noongar values of thinking, listening and learning, and its work centres on open-mindedness, respect and learning from Elders. Operating across the Great Southern, Kadadjiny supports Aboriginal children, young people and families through culturally grounded programs. Its Schools Readiness Program helps children who struggle with school attendance through bush camps, heritage-site visits, sporting events, traditional dance and art. The corporation reports a team of around ten staff, about ninety per cent of whom are Aboriginal, working from offices in Albany, Katanning, Gnowangerup and Tambellup. Kadadjiny also partners with other providers to deliver family and domestic violence support, including the Katanning Women's Refuge, reflecting its broader commitment to healing, empowerment and lasting community change.
