Noongar Mia Mia is a First Nations-owned and managed Aboriginal community housing provider based in Boorloo/Perth, serving Aboriginal people and families across the Perth metropolitan area and beyond. It describes itself as the only Tier 3 Aboriginal community housing provider in Perth metro, and in 2024 became the first Aboriginal-controlled community housing provider in WA to reach Tier 3 status. Its work follows an evidence-based, Elder-endorsed cultural model of supportive housing known as Mia Keny (Noongar Housing First Principles), delivering trauma-informed, culturally secure housing and tenancy support that strengthens connections to family, community, culture and country.
Who we are
Noongar Mia Mia is a First Nations-owned and managed housing provider based in Boorloo/Perth. Established in 2000 by the former Karlkinany ATSIC Regional Council, it has operated for over two decades and grown steadily in assets, services, staff and clients. It provides rental accommodation for Aboriginal people and their families alongside culturally grounded tenancy support. Its model, the Noongar Housing First Principles (Mia Keny), is described as an evidence-based, Elder-endorsed cultural model of supportive housing that is trauma-informed and culturally secure. In 2024 it became the first Aboriginal-controlled community housing provider in WA to achieve Tier 3 Housing Provider status with the Department of Communities. Services span housing provision, property management and tenancy support, delivered through programs including Noongar Mia Bidee, Moorditj Mia and Boola Moort. It is registered with the ACNC and listed with Supply Nation.
