In early May, the team travelled to Northam where we worked alongside our WACOSS partners to deliver a community workshop on Strengthening Child Safety Through Organisational Culture, Child Participation and Equity. This was a valuable opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and engage meaningfully with community members. We thank everyone who attended and contributed to the conversations, your input is vital in shaping our work moving forward.
Mid-day saw the team travel to the Goldfields region for the first time, with a visit to Kalgoorlie marking an important milestone for the project. During this visit, we connected with a number of CASWA members and were privileged to meet with local ACCOs and community representatives. We extend our sincere thanks to Kalgoorlie-based ACCOs and CASWA members for your generosity in sharing your insights, experiences, and strong motivation to engage with the Child Safe project. This was an exceptional visit that has laid the groundwork for ongoing collaboration. We look forward to returning to the region in the near future to deliver workshops and continue building trusted relationships with community.
In the first week of June, the team travelled to Bunbury to deliver an awareness-raising workshop for ACCOs and CSOs. This visit was particularly significant, as while we partnered alongside WACOSS, who delivered a parallel workshop. it also marked CASWA’s first independent workshop delivery. This represents a key milestone for the Child Safe project as we continue to build our capability, establish our voice in the sector, and increase our reach and influence.
We were pleased to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants in Bunbury and will continue refining this foundational workshop as we move forward. The Child Safe team looks forward to returning with more specialised, tailored workshops that respond directly to community needs.
