Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia

AHCWA is the peak body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in Western Australia. It exists so that Aboriginal people enjoy the same level of health and wellbeing as all Western Australians. AHCWA works with and for its 24 member services, advancing the Aboriginal Community Controlled model of care that is built on culture, community control and self-determination. The organisation leads and influences health policy at state and national levels, builds the capacity and sustainability of the sector, and supports its members to deliver holistic, culturally secure primary health care. Its work is guided by values of culture, integrity, passion, collaboration, accountability and resilience, and by its role as a member of the Coalition of Peaks under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
