Bega Garnbirringu Health Service Inc.

Bega Garnbirringu Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Kalgoorlie, serving Aboriginal people across the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Founded in 1983 as the Kalgoorlie Aboriginal Medical Service and renamed Bega Garnbirringu in 1993, it has grown to operate eight sites and employ around 100 staff, the majority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Bega provides comprehensive primary health care, including GP services, chronic disease management, maternal and child health and specialist clinics, together with a mobile clinic reaching remote communities. It also delivers social support such as homelessness outreach, NDIS support and youth programs, social and emotional wellbeing and suicide prevention, smoking cessation and environmental health, a sobering-up shelter, and accredited workforce development through Nindila Training. Its vision is a society where Aboriginal people share health standards and life expectancy equal to the wider community.
