Binarri-Binyja Yarrawoo Aboriginal Corporation
Binarri-binyja yarrawoo Aboriginal Corporation (BBY) is the backbone organisation for Empowered Communities in the East Kimberley. Its name means "Let's all walk along the path of knowledge" in Miriwoong and Gija languages. BBY acts as a neutral facilitator of reform, supporting Aboriginal people and organisations across nine East Kimberley language groups to lead regional development and change. It coordinates joint decision-making, regional planning, sector development, research and data, project management, service mapping and policy submissions. Governed by a board and operating through a membership model, BBY works with community members, ACCOs and partners to advance self-determination across the region.
Who we are

BBY supports Aboriginal people and organisations across nine East Kimberley language groups to drive their own development agenda and collaborative change. Its work spans regional planning, joint decision-making, sector development, evidence-based research and data, project management, service mapping and policy submissions. Governed by a board of directors and operating through a membership model, BBY engages community members, member organisations and supporters. The corporation acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the East Kimberley and centres self-determination, aiming to strengthen Aboriginal-led decision-making and improve long-term outcomes across the region.
