Binarri-Binyja Yarrawoo Aboriginal Corporation

BBY is the backbone organisation for Empowered Communities in the East Kimberley, acting as a neutral facilitator of reform for the region. The name Binarri-binyja yarrawoo means "Let's all walk along the path of knowledge" in the Miriwoong and Gija languages. BBY supports Aboriginal people and organisations across nine East Kimberley language groups to drive their own development agenda and collaborative change. Its work spans regional planning, joint decision-making, sector development, evidence-based research and data, project management, service mapping and policy submissions. Governed by a board of directors and operating through a membership model, BBY engages community members, member organisations and supporters. The corporation acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the East Kimberley and centres self-determination, aiming to strengthen Aboriginal-led decision-making and improve long-term outcomes across the region.
