Gorenang Moortabiin Aboriginal Corporation

Gorenang Moortabiin Aboriginal Corporation was established in 2020 by Paula Foenander in collaboration with Elder Ezzard Flowers to serve Aboriginal people across the Great Southern. Based in Centennial Park, Albany, its name combines the Goreng and Minang Noongar language groups, and 'Moortabiin' means bringing families and communities together. The organisation's vision is to be a trusted and respected service that empowers people and builds positive community capacity through engagement, consultation and communication. Gorenang Moortabiin works particularly with young people, giving them a voice in their community and in the programs that affect them. It delivers a wide range of cultural awareness and cultural safety programs on and off country, along with cultural tours and an online art gallery. Its broader services include intensive family support, early-intervention justice work, on-country cultural reconnection and voluntary programs for at-risk youth and young people in out-of-home care.
