Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation
Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation based in South Hedland in the Pilbara, working to advance the wellbeing of the local Aboriginal community. Its vision is expressed as "Walking together, looking forward, looking back - to strengthen our next generation." Its work is guided by the principles of Kumaparniku (Aboriginal people as informed voices on Aboriginal issues), Inspire (leading by example) and Empower (centring Elders, youth and community). It delivers family, youth and community support programs, including early-years family support, wrap-around services for isolated families, and youth diversion work with young people who have had police contact.
Who we are
Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation in South Hedland, Pilbara, established in 2000 and dedicated to positive change for the local Aboriginal community. Its guiding vision, "Walking together, looking forward, looking back - to strengthen our next generation," reflects a focus on strengthening families and future generations. The corporation operates on three principles: Kumaparniku (Aboriginal people as informed voices on Aboriginal issues), Inspire (leading by example) and Empower (Elders, youth and community as agents of change). Its programs include Kumaparniku, supporting families with children under five; Mara Milpaku, providing wrap-around services to previously isolated families across housing, employment, education and recreation; Karlyarti, delivering the Target 120 youth diversion program for 10-14 year-olds with police contact in partnership with the WA Department of Communities; and Julu Kuma Ngarlijuru, working to build a more inclusive and integrated local service system.
