Karlup Aboriginal Corporation

Karlup Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit Aboriginal community controlled organisation based in Midland in the City of Swan, an area with the largest Aboriginal population of any local government authority in Western Australia. Registered with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations in April 2022, Karlup serves the Noongar Nations and works so that Aboriginal people have a place to call home, are empowered to have a voice, and are in control of their own communities. Governed by a board that acknowledges Noongar elders and leaders, Karlup delivers Aboriginal-led community programs and culturally responsive family support, including the 'Walking Together' service delivered with partners Indigo Junction and Wanslea. It runs youth programs, men's and women's community groups, and cultural programs under its Karlup Kaartdijin framework. Karlup is also developing affordable housing, working towards community housing registration and managed housing for local Aboriginal families by 2027.
