Who we are
The Kimberley Land Council (KLC) is the peak Aboriginal body for Western Australia's Kimberley region and the native title representative body for the area. Formed in 1978 as a land rights organisation, it works with Kimberley Aboriginal people to get back Country, look after Country and control the future. The KLC supports native title claims and Prescribed Bodies Corporate, runs the Kimberley Ranger Network for land and sea management, and delivers fire and carbon (savanna burning) projects, Indigenous Protected Areas and two-way science research. It operates from offices in Broome and Kununurra with remote satellite bases.
