Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service
Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is a community-controlled Aboriginal health service in Kununurra, East Kimberley, and a Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services member. It provides accessible, culturally safe primary health care to Aboriginal people in the Ord Valley region, empowering individuals through education, prevention and early intervention. Services include Aboriginal health checks, general medicine, immunisations, chronic disease management, visiting specialist clinics, maternal and child health, and social and emotional wellbeing. Programs cover Tackling Indigenous Smoking, FASD education, Connected Beginnings early childhood, an Enhanced Syphilis Response and elder care. OVAHS runs a walk-in clinic with transport and NDIS support.
Who we are
Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is a community-controlled Aboriginal healthcare provider based in Kununurra in the East Kimberley, delivering culturally appropriate primary health care to Aboriginal people in the Ord Valley region. Its mission is to provide accessible and culturally safe health services while empowering individuals through education, prevention and early intervention. From its walk-in clinic on Ironwood Drive, OVAHS offers Aboriginal health checks, general medicine, immunisations, chronic disease management and visiting specialist clinics, together with maternal and child health, population health initiatives and social and emotional wellbeing support. Targeted programs include Tackling Indigenous Smoking, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder education, the Connected Beginnings early childhood program, an Enhanced Syphilis Response and elder care. The service also provides NDIS support and transport assistance, and is a member of Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services.
